DISCLAIMER: this is NOT a bagel shop!!! Ages ago they were, but slowly they've morphed into a Spanish food eatery. So - they DO have bagels but it's a limited amount that they get each morning, and when they're done they're done. But - if you're lucky to get a bagel - they make THE BEST bacon-egg-cheese sandwiches around. My finicky teenagers agree. If you aren't put off by the non-bagelshop ambiance then try one of their Latin breakfasts. Eggs, bacon, beans and tortillas. Made to order. Hopefully they change their name soon so that people don't waste their time walking in then walking out... but if you stay, you'll have a good meal!
This place is an absolute gem. Maybe not the greatest area on Long Island, however absolutely the best "spanish food" that I have ever had. I have been stopping in for lunch or dinner to-go, and ordering from them for catered events at home for 10+ years now. Best tasting ribs I have ever had. Sauce must be an old family recipe. Its perfect and they are ALWAYS fall off the bone tender. $2/rib last time I was there is such a steal. Basically everything behind that glass counter is gold and you're missing out if you let the "Bagel Cafe" in the title & the corner store decor keep you from this awesome home-cooked food. GO THERE!
